This Coconut Assam is a great flavored tea. I've not been happy with most Assams for several years, as most that I've tried have been either too heavy, or somewhat bitter. But this Assam is perfectly smooth, with a taste which is not in any way overbearing or bitter., Mated to this tea, in a way which is quite artfully done, are wonderfully fresh, toasted coconut flakes which contribute a mellow, and delicious flavor of coconut. This tea is a perfect example of what a flavored tea should be. It's also a great and stimulating way to begin the day.

A "bizzillion" stars. This is my favorite Zhi Tea. I could drink it all day long (with 1/2 and 1/2 and a bit of organic can sugar). I shared a cup of this tea with my non-hot tea drink husband, and he fell in love with it. He begged me to make it for him three nights in a row. I told him that I would make it for him every Saturday or Sunday night as a "treat". Today is Thursday, and he is already asking for his tea.

The coconut isn't exactly subtle, but definitely not overstated. Really smooth and enjoyable.

I originally tasted this tea in a local Colorado Springs restaurant and I had to have more. We actually visited the Zhi tea "store" on a trip to Austin last year and tried teas and bought more tea. What friendly folks! Thank you Zhi

Out of all the tea samples I've tried, recently, from many different suppliers and companies, this is the one I'm continuously craving... and I've finished my sample. Time for a full order! :D

I love this tea- as long as I don't steep it too long, it never gets bitter. My favorite caffeinated pick-me-up in the morning. Tried it decaf (like 3rd steeping) and iced and it was WONDERFUL!!

I end the steeping 15-30 sec early and get a light, buttery, toasted coconut flavour that needs no sweetener. Truly awesome with drinkable coconut milk mixed in (So Delicious brand).

I drink a lot of tea so I am a bit of a snob. But this is a very good flavored tea with an authentic coconut taste. I guess it helps having real coconut in it.

I find this tea to be full flavoured and yet gentle. A good morning tea.

A shorter steep yields a superb straight tea needing no milk or sugar.

Water: 195°F | Leaves: 1 tsp per 6 ounce cup | Infusion Time: 3-4 minutes

Basic Steeping Tips
- Use filtered or spring water, whenever possible
- Don’t over-boil water
- Remove leaves after recommended time (adjust to taste)
- If you want stronger tea, use more leaves instead of steeping for a longer time
Leaves can be re-steeped 2-3 times resulting in various flavor differences. Don’t throw out those leaves until they have given it all up!
Black tea has a class of polyphenols that protect your bones and teeth (help the body from pulling calcium) and is good for your heart. Black tea contains antioxidants and about 1/3 the amount of caffeine as found in a cup of coffee.
The history of tea in China is long and complex. The Chinese have enjoyed tea for millennia. Scholars hailed the brew as a cure for a variety of ailments; the nobility considered the consumption of good tea as a mark of their status, and the common people simply enjoyed its flavor.

Tea was first discovered by the Chinese Emperor Shennong in 2737 BC. It is said that the emperor liked his drinking water boiled before he drank it so it would be clean, so that is what his servants did. One day, on a trip to a distant region, he and his army stopped to rest. A servant began boiling water for him to drink, and a dead leaf from the wild tea bush fell into the water. It turned a brownish color, but it was unnoticed and presented to the emperor anyway. The emperor drank it and found it very refreshing, and cha (tea) was born.
