I got a free sample of this tea, which was very kind of Zhi Tea. While I like red rooibos, I don't like coconut, I dislike the taste of anise, and the tea was sweeter than I care for. So this wasn't a good taste match for me. I can see why it's a popular tea, though. It contains: red rooibos, coconut, cacao nibs, cinnamon, anise pods, stevia leaf, safflowers, and coconut flavor.

I tried a sample of this with three different people, and unfortunately since I'm on a medication called Topamax that affects the taste of certain things I could not properly enjoy this, but I did notice for me it tasted strongly of medicine-y cough syrup which we think was due to the Topamax reacting to the safflowers or perhaps the stevia leaf. My two friends who are not on Topamax enjoyed it very much and did not notice any medicinal taste at all - I asked them to be sure as I always do whenever something like this occurs.

So just a word of warning to anyone who might be on a medication that's known to sometimes change flavors (albeit usually associated with sodas and other products) that it might be best to try a sample first to make sure.

I'm rating it a 5 regardless based on the feedback my friends (one of whom isn't fond of tea, but loved this) gave me. It's only too bad my medication did not seem to like it as much as they did. :)

My first experience with Sweet Desert Delight was accompanied by the most flavorful, tender almond crossaint from La Boite French pastry trailer. Ummm. I cant wait to get more of this rich, mildly sweet, flavorful treat.

This was a wonderful, full-bodied tea. The anise really kicks it up in later steepings, but the flavour stays great. This tea has a great mouth feel, and is perfect for a chilly evening in.

Complex, sweet, different, but not a favorite. Has a medicinal tinge that turns me off. I can see why it won some awards, though. Worth the sample!

Awesome! First tried this at the Austin Farmer's Market downtown. We love this tea. For non-caffeine drinkers, rooibos is the way to go. The blend you guys make is fantastic. Well, done. I don't think I will ever use another product for ice tea again. You rock the house.

I served this tea at a dinner party last week, and my guests, who are all tea drinkers and foodies, responded with a great amount of enthusiasm. "where in god's name did you get this?' was kind of how it went. Thank you, we are truly enjoying it.

Water: 208°F | Leaves: 1 tsp per 6 ounce cup | Infusion Time: 4 - 5 minutes

Basic Steeping Tips
- Use filtered or spring water, whenever possible
- Don't over-boil water
- Remove leaves after recommended time (adjust to taste)
- If you want stronger tea, use more leaves instead of steeping for a longer time
Leaves can be re-steeped 2-3 times resulting in various flavor differences. Don't throw out those leaves until they have given it all up!
Red tea (Rooibos/Red Bush) has been researched a great deal over the last few years. Results indicate that Rooibos has the highest levels of antioxidants of all infused beverages. Higher in fact than Green Tea.

As such, it displays the highest anti-aging properties. Along with the fact that it is 100% caffeine-free, well you can enjoy this delicious cup anytime of day.
Rooibos plant grows only near the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. It was first noted by botanist Carl Humberg in 1772.

A century later, Benjamin Ginsberg, a Russian immigrant, realized its marketing potential, and in 1904 began offering it as an herbal substitute to tea.

The difficulty of shipping tea during the Second World War had boosted demand for Rooibos, which began to be referred to as Red Bush Tea, or simply Red Tea.

In Japan, Rooibos is believed to aid longevity, and is known as Long Life Tea.
