Amazing, flavorful. I've never tried silver needle before, but I've always thought white teas only had very subtle flavors. This has a very noticeable, nutty flavor (spring 2014). Love it! I can get at least 4 good steepings from it, too.

Delicate flavor with definite pine scent. Reminds me of Christmas.

  3. December 14, 2011 Review by Pearl.

This tea has a very subtle, delicious flavor. It has a slightly earthy, delicate flavor that is more potent as the tea cools. I have heard that this tea has a lot of health benefits and is only harvested TWO days out of the entire year!!! The rarity of this tea leads me to savor each sip I take. Amazingly soft, smooth, and sweet. I drink at least 4 cups a day!

This is the best tea that I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. It is good both hot or cold.

Just what I imagined. Delicate, lightly sweet, lightly floral, refreshing and delicious. I tried some of this iced and it is amazing. No need any sweetener whatsoever.

Wow. This tea has honey-like qualities and a great mouth feel. You can tell it is so fresh, al downy and soft with tons of little hairs on it. You can get several steeps out of a scopp of this.

    Outstanding white tea.

Hint: Use more leaves for a stronger, more satisfying taste.

Water: 195°F | Leaves: 1 Tbsp per 6 ounce cup | Infusion Time: 3-4 minutes

Basic Steeping Tips
- Use filtered or spring water, whenever possible
- Don’t overboil water
- Remove leaves after recommended time (adjust to taste)
- If you want stronger tea, use more leaves instead of steeping for a longer time
Leaves can be resteeped 2-3 times resulting in various flavor differences. Don’t throw out those leaves until they have given it all up!
White tea is sun dried and contains a high amount of antioxidants. Low in caffeine. Heart healthy and has known cancer halting properties.
Invented in 1857, the Silver Needle tea is fairly young; however, it has already breached the ranks of the top 10 most famous teas in China. The tea gets its name from its buds – they are covered with lots of white hairs, giving it a silvery appearance. The bud is also as straight as a needle.

Gathered only a few days each year, the Silver Needle tea is one of the rarest in the world. It is picked from mid-March to early April in the absence of rain in the Fuding and Zhenhe districts of the Fujian Province in China to ensure that the buds are undamaged and unopened.

Adding to the high quality of this tea, collectors of the Silver Needle are required to refrain from eating garlic, drink alcohol, or consume any other strong-smelling substances prior to picking. It is believed that the silver buds easily absorb smells and will lose its high quality.
