Austin, TX – Zhi Tea, a leader in the online selling of 100% organic and Fair Trade loose leaf teas, plant their roots in Austin. Taking the journey from different parts of the globe, Zhi Tea, a female owned business, hand picked Austin to be the birth place of Zhi.
Zhi carries over 60 different certified organic loose leaf teas and blends whose names are as exotic as the countries they derive from, such as Sweet Desert Delight, Pinhead Gunpowder and Coconut Assam.
In addition to the finest selection of loose tea in Austin, Zhi offers a selection of tea pots, accessories, and gift baskets.
“We wanted to create a sense of wonder and exploration with our teas and invite people to join in the journey,” says Candice Oneida, President and founder of Zhi Tea, “The tea industry tends to be shrouded in mystery and we want to take the mystery out, educate and bring people in. We felt that Austin was an excellent place to do just that.”
The decision to start the Zhi line in Austin has proven to be a beneficial one. Local Austin businesses are beginning to embrace and support the Zhi brand, with companies such as Faraday’s Kitchen Store, Café Caffeine and The Greenling organic delivery service.
In fact, Zhi’s commitment to using only the highest quality of 100% organic tea and blending ingredients and their support of Fair Trade practices compliment Austin being the greenest city in America.
"We really wanted to be in a place where the existing culture reflects the values that we hold as a company; specifically a very progressive, open, and environmentally conscientious town” says Oneida.
